The consequences of incorrect processing of instruments due to incorrect soaking times, dilutions and pre-cleansing can result in the potential for inadvertent cross contamination or corrosion that results in poor instrument performance due to a shortened life span.
Alongside our Bandaging Angels Clinical Club, we launched a survey to help us better understand the challenges you face and the factors that influence the processes you use. While we usually host these questions through interactive voting, this subject requires more depth than we will have time to host live. Your contribution now will really help us tailor the advice and responses to better fit practice. Survey closes end of May 2025. Winners to be announced June 2025. PLEASE DO complete the short survey and you will be in with a chance to win a £25 Amazon Voucher as a heartfelt thank you!

![]() We are always looking out for good articles that can inform our teaching and that we can recommend to others. Clinicians Brief provide a fantastic resource and some great articles on wound management. We particularly liked this one covering the management of challenging wounds in dogs and cats. Follow the link to read on their site at. https://www.cliniciansbrief.com/article/wound-closure-tissue-care-veterinary We loved the case studies. What do you think? The Bandaging Angels are dedicated to helping practices and individuals master the art of wound care and bandaging.
Bandaging Angels Fiona & Jenny hosted the first of our upcoming Small Animal Roadshows at Westway Vets in Newcastle on the 3rd of April, bringing their expertise to local veterinary professionals.
Our Small Animal Roadshows focus on providing comprehensive theory & practical training to enhance wound management and bandaging skills that can be utilised within all aspects of veterinary practice. These events offer invaluable insights into the physiology behind wounds, why wounds don't heal and the science behind bandaging techniques, and much more! Our roadshows aim to enhance the knowledge and skills of each individual delegate, whilst fostering collaboration between colleagues, both at the events and within their respective practices when it comes to approaching the management of wounds and bandages so that they can achieve better, safer & kinder patient outcomes. Attendees were given hands-on experience, learning when to utilise different dressings and how to apply science to their bandaging techniques. We are proud to say that our first Small Animal Roadshow was positively received with outstanding feedback from the delegates in attendance, who appreciated the practical knowledge and support offered by both Fiona & Jenny. This sets the precedence for our other upcoming venues, and we're really looking forward to the next one on the 8th of May at Fife Zoo, Scotland!

We're so excited to share that BOTH Georgie and Lisa have had their abstracts accepted for the upcoming VWHA meeting in Barcelona 26-28 March 2025. VWHA 2025 - EWMA
Georgie's abstract will highlight a simple, readily available and cost effective method to establish the extent of tissue damage after burn injuries (and similar trauma). These are difficult cases to call. This method may reduce suffering and aid early decision making. If you would like to attend…. There is TIME … the agenda is full of fabulous subjects and worth the trip to Barcelona to discuss and explore your small animal and equine wound care. I’d love to meet like minded people who are as passionate about better wound care! This event is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is passionate about wound management in horses and companion animals, and there is STILL time to register - Registration to the VWHA conference is via EWMA website: https://vwha.net/2025-march-26-27th-veterinary-wound-healing-association-conference-within-the-ewma-congress-in-barcelona-spain/
The Bandaging Angels were honoured to have been invited to collaborate and deliver a practical CPD day with Duggan Vet Group in Ireland! Bandaging Angels Georgie Hollis and Katarina Strpkova delivered a fun, and engaging 'Bandaging Bootcamp' with the support of the Duggan's team to Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) from all over Ireland. It was great fun to see so many RVNs engaging enthusiastically while enhancing their skills and confidence in bandaging techniques!
The Bandaging Angels are delighted to announce the continuation of their lecturing program for a second consecutive year. This initiative adopts a science-focused approach and is also tailored to each college syllabus to support veterinary nursing students across the country.
Our dedicated Bandaging Angels deliver a comprehensive training experience that spans an entire day, incorporating both theory and practical workshops, aimed at actively engaging students. This program is designed to equip them not only for their Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE) but also to prepare them for successful careers as Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) in practice. |
