Jenny's 1st career was with the RSPB working on membership development and visitor education at both the Lake District Osprey project and the North East Red Kite project after initially completing a BSc in Countryside Management at Newcastle University.
In 2009, following an intense period of nursing her very sick puppy, she was reminded of her dream to work in the veterinary field and was offered a training position with the practice who had helped with her pup. She qualified as an RVN in 2012, soon to share a Senior Nurse position with Fiona (a fellow Angel) and then move on to her current role as Head Nurse in a more rural practice in 2017. It is through her learning from Fiona that her passion for wound management was ignited and she has managed many cases over the last few years with Fiona's support through the Bandaging Angels. She is enrolled to study for the Nurse Merit in Wound Management later this year and wants to be able to help and support others as an Angel to improve patient welfare for all pets. In her spare time she enjoys long forest adventures with her 1 year old English Setter, open water swimming and as many holidays in the Scottish Highlands as she can manage to fit in her holiday allowance. |
